Warning – “What a dreadful place this outer darkness must be.”

Our church adult (mostly senior) Bible Study is reading The Book of Revelation. I personally have previously studied the book a fair amount. And recently posted some useful resources to understand the historical Protestant interpretation, which is for several reasons is neglected or not taught today. In the article below Mike makes a connection of other passages in the Bible to one dreadful aspect of Jesus’ teaching of the end times.

As I read this I could not help recalling Jonathan Edward’s old sermon. Which ended this this:

Therefore let every one that is out of Christ, now awake and fly from the Wrath to come. The Wrath of almighty GOD is now undoubtedly hanging over great Part of this Congregation: Let every one fly out of Sodom: Haste and escape for your Lives, look not behind you, escape to the Mountain, least you be consumed.
