Let’s don’t be ashamed.

The pastor of the small Reformed church I’m in a Bible study with last night spoke about the risks of being trapped by those in our current culture and world who act like those who tried to trap Jesus during his own ministry. Not all are friends of Christ Jesus or the Bible and the Gospel. It was an interesting discussion, mostly about whether we should be overt or proactive when challenged in a conversation or situation. It’s an area that takes wisdom.

Ephesians 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;

We observed that often Jesus responded by just asking a question. There are times to stand up and speak and times to turn the other cheek and walk away brushing the dust off our feet.

But just like Mike wrote about a few day’s before in Romans 1:16-17, the Good News and the Bad News of the Gospel is something not to be ashamed of.

2Ti 1:8  Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

2Ti 1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
