Being in God’s Word

I have to thank Mike Ratliff for continuing to proclaim God’s Word of Truth.

Just in this single message there are many truths that never get mentioned in many churches:

We miss the fellowship we once had at our old churches, but God has opened the door and shoved us out thereby separating us from those who are now compromised. We hunger for the fellowship and the Word. God is good though. At least for now, we can still teach and preach the Word online. There are wonderful sermons at sermonaudio that are free.

Two excellent resources I use for some of the Best Sermons are:

I’m currently working my way through his 233 sermons from the Book of Ephesians.

Dr. Johnson’s sermons are both pastoral and almost like seminary classes. And have full text copies if you want to quote him. Year’s ago I did his Gospel of John series and he has great sermons on doctrine including the Effectual Call teaching.

For those interested in a study of Revelation Dr. Dilday has some more recent sermons on the first half of the book.

I did all 257 of these while hiking and driving years ago.. Very detail and very useful. I saw recently he has been teaching on the later chapters of the book. I need to reconnect and listen to those.

Back to Mike’s post here are a few more quotes…

The famine of hearing God’s Word preached will only get worse I fear. It is not news anymore that US military chaplains are no longer allowed to pray to God or Jesus as they minister to their soldiers or sailors. Religious freedom is already a precious commodity in much of the world, why would we believe we would be exempt? There are also some very dangerous precedents taking place as I type this where certain so-called Christian leaders are attempting to use legal action to silence those who reveal their apostasy and expose their bad fruit.

I need to ask my son-in-law who plans to go back into the Army as a chaplain next year about that. I wish Mike has explained it more…I am aware of issues in the Military including multiple faiths and practices, I’m assuming the restrictions Mike mentions are requiring the Chaplains to ask the soldier or sailor they speak to for permission to share about God, Jesus and the Bible, because of mixed faiths. But there may be further restrictions even in preaching and praying.

The rock upon which Christ is building His church was not Peter but the faith that all regenerate believers have. Are you in Christ? If so then you have this faith. No matter what our enemy attempts to do to silence the truth or kill all those who are genuinely Christ’s, our Lord’s promise that hell shall not prevail against His church still stands. Oh, we may be persecuted and deprived of our local churches, but we have the Holy Spirit and our Bibles and God will provide us heavenly food from places and people that He designates. Therefore, stand firm my brethren.

So true, it’s not Peter it’s his truth statement:

Then Simon Peter answered, and said, Thou art that Christ, the son of the living God.

Part of the error of the Roman Church is they redefine their church to be founded on Peter….and his line of succession the Pope’s. Read a lot about those errors here.

Please carefully read this passage. All who are truly in Christ are the chosen of God. He chose them as the first fruits to be saved through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. My brethren, we are truly blessed for we have been cleansed by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit because the Father chose us before the foundation of the world.

Such a critical teaching I really didn’t fully understand to probably the 10-15 years. It’s reinforced in the Bible quotes Mike uses, the Dr. Jones and Johnson sermons teach it well. As does the small reformed church pastor I’m in a Bible Study with. I leave you with a link to his latest teaching on the Canons of Dort….
