Reading Mike’s latest post, having just this week another of the latest, (i.e. the 9/23 end of the world) prophecies does draw me to reflect on Jesus’ Words. Truly no one knows.
It does appear clear that the events leading up to it will be a lot of various forms of deception, false prophesies, probably false gospels and many following in those paths. The will be witnessing to both the true and false ways of faith.
There will be persecution even to the extreme for those who do follow God’s True Words and Faith. Are we in those times today, certainly not fully, if you study the history of the church deception, false teaching and persecutions have been around for a long time.
Maybe it’s becoming easier to be influenced today due to our podcasts, social media, internet and AI/ChatGPT world of text, audio and images. Something to think about.
Perhaps at some point we will see something along the lines of John’s Revelation (I’m not a prophet so don’t take this too seriously).
Revelation 13:11-15 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
Old John Gill has an interesting older Protestant view of the image of the Beast if you care to read it. But even he only is giving several possible options. I don’t think anyone knows.
But as Mike says the Saints will endure…
