Great wisdom from two witnesses of the early Reformation,
Mike Ratliff does well to present this.
Humanism is a form of idolatry. Why? it refuses to submit to the sovereignty of God. It says that the end of all things is the happiness of Man. Genuine Christianity says that the end of all things is the Glory of God
Dr. S. Lewis Johnson used to use a term describing God as being Sovereignly Sovereign.
I agree with Mike that we have in the past 50-60 years.,.”rediscovered the Mystical Practices of the Roman Church, in the realm of Spiritual Disciplines like Contemplative Prayer, etc…thinking they are something new that fills in the gaps of our shallow contemporary faith.
As for works our Great Westminster Confession summarizes it this way..
And in all things we do them for the Glory of God..
