Elizabeth Prata touches on some pretty controversial teachings in this section of the Bible.
It’s all part of our need as both women and men for discernment. I’ve got a number of posts under that category.
As I’ve grown to a more Conservative Reformed Doctrinal Faith, I’m leaning into the more traditional roles for men and women. And starting to reexamine the tenet of the EPC.
Particularly the statement….at the ending:
The Essentials are set forth in greater detail in the Westminster Confession of Faith.
In Non-Essentials … Liberty
In Essentials … Unity
In All Things … Charity
There is a lot of risk in how one defines Non-Essentials…
One of those areas in the EPC is women in Pastorial ministry or Director positions preaching to and leading men.
That’s an area my understanding has moved toward the traditional Biblical interpretation….
I’m trying to recall where I read something about that recently that made the “Non” part a lot more restrictive. But it was in an EPC document. If I can find it again I will post in the comment.
Elizabeth also posted a second article at the bottom of her post…I took the liberty (pun intended) to link it directly below.
