The first 4 readings today offer much to think upon.
Not the least of which, is to stretch our belief to grasp just how literally true these events are.
Do we believe the Bible or do we not?
Here we see Jesus gathering his three key disciples and letting them experience the transfiguration, Jesus confirming who John was, the healing the disciples could not do, and teaching about the resurrection. We see God cresting the heavens and earth in 6 days…..literally, do we get to decide what is possible? And the sound teachings of Paul and Peter and even the rebuke that was given to Peter….and the reality to real false teachers.
And don’t miss the teaching and literal understanding of Noah, and and Lot…..and a literal Hell.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
Perhaps we should all share this father’s exclamation…
Mar 9:24 And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
