Catch of the Week

First Post – Catch of the Week

So this is first “weekly” post to this category. For now I will plan to post and update the post as the week progresses, I still have to pick the best day to complete the week, but for now we will make it today Saturday, the 7th day, the Hebrew Sabbath. I know I should be resting. But I will honor that day tomorrow the first day of the Week. So the next post will begin with 2/26/17. This one will be short. Recapping only a few of the articles I’ve seen the past few days.

I can start with two standard weekly summaries that I mentioned before that I review:

Do Not Be Surprised… Erin Benziger’s weekly update:
24 February 2017     This ‘n’ That

The Watchman’s Bagpipes  – Glenn E. Chatfield

Again please use your own discernment. I don’t agree with everything that they post or link to.
Charles Spurgeon on Discernment

“Discernment is not knowing the difference between right and wrong. It is knowing the difference between right and almost right.”
—C.H. Spurgeon
Recently I have noticed some good articles on the ways of the Visible Church, some of these may challenge your conventional thinking.

The New Missiology – Doing Missions Without the Gospel
And these from Pulpit & Pen…
The Self-Deceived Conference “Christian”
The Serpent’s Whisper: Why I Don’t See “Christian” Movies
On The Gospel Coalition’s “Wretched Infatuation” With Culture
The movie: Is Genesis History?
Looks interesting there will be TWO SPECIAL ENCORES: MARCH 2 & MARCH 7
But I actually like this site which has much the same information for free to watch:
Creation Training Initiative
And his audios

Finally, I ran across a new blog site a few months ago.. I’m still trying to get to know this site. But a couple of posts I’ve read seem to address some important issue:
Asleep No More Doug Evans

Per Fidem Intrepidus
Wednesday, February 22, 2017 How Little Is Known Of The Bible
Friday, February 17, 2017 Random Bits
This last one is along the lines of summaries mentioned above.
Please check out the Abouts and Statements of Faith of these bloggers.
In our culture of Fake Facts; don’t just accept what they say as truth. Be Bereans.
And many of them on their sites have links to other sites, some may be good some may not.
Observation of the week….I am running across a number of bloggers that seem to reference John MacArthur and his church Grace to You. I am getting the impression he somehow encourages those who follow him to be visible on the Internet. MacArthur says many good things but then so do so many other Visible Church Pastors. Again it is best to be first everyday in God’s word, the Bible.
I posted on that earlier.

Ok that is more than enough for the week.
