1 Corinthians 9 – Paul’s Prosperity Gospel

Ok, the title is a temptation to get you to read the post.

With so much of today’s church linked to money…I can’t believe the number of pastors I’ve read about recently that have accumulated tens of millions in net worth…some I’ve heard even over a billion.
But Paul was different his prosperity was in preaching the gospel.
Pull out chapter 9 and read how he did not exercise the power of the purse. Verse 18 says it all..
BTW Paul’s passion was this message:
Rom 1:15  So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.
Here are a couple verses:

1Co 9:12  If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ.

1Co 9:14  Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

1Co 9:16  For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!

1Co 9:17  For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me.

1Co 9:18  What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel.

1Co 9:23  And this I do for the gospel‘s sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.
