Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Some times I wonder do the multiple repeation of words and phases in our midern praise hymns fall under the scope of this verse. Is there truly a benefit in sings these over and over, or are these just vain repetitions, as the culture does.
