Hab 3:3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
Hab 3:4 And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power.
This can be included in the examples of finding Christ in the Old Testament which as been a theme of the online study I’ve been doing with Dr. Dilday.
and the Holy One from Mount Paran; or, “even the Holy One” (x); that came or shined forth “from Mount Paran” formerly; for it was Christ then that appeared on Mount Sinai, and gave to Moses the lively oracles of God; see Psa 68:17 he, as he is truly God, God manifest in the flesh, “Immanuel”, God with us; so he is the holy One of God, infinitely and essentially holy, as a divine Person; and holy, and harmless, and without sin in his human nature and life; and is the sanctifier and sanctification of his people. Also note the book ends with these familiar verses….if you are curious look up Old John Gill’s commentary on these verses.
Hab 3:17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
Hab 3:18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
Hab 3:19 The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.
