The theme this Christmas season at our church is JOY.
This small book of Jude ends with an expression of this.
Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Jud 1:25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
But I doubt our church or many others will ever preach the entirety of this book, and certainly not during Advent.
There are times I desire to gather all of the passages of warning that the New Testament presents into on single place. We mostly ignore these today.
Family: 2 Chronicles 9; Jude 1. Secret: Zephaniah 1; Luke 23. (King James Version)
You can hear Max read all of today’s reading here.
Just a sample of some of the verses….
Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jud 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jud 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
