Why it is vital that Christians become mature and discerning

A good quote you posted. “It is all too plainly apparent men are willing to forego the old for the sake of the new. But commonly it is found in theology that that which is true is not new, and that which is new is not true.”

Yet it is true that this applies not only to the 19th century, and today, but a time 2,500 years ago..

One of my favorite prophetic verses is:

Jeremiah 6:16  Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
