Good Works vs. Works Righteousness

Sheltering in place and hoping to refocus more on God’s word.
Good message, I might add:

1) As the WSC begins:
Q. 1. What is the chief end of man?
A. Man’s chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

It’s never the good works, or works of righteousness, but glorifying God, and there is a second part enjoying him…forever. Could we say always?

2) As Matthew ends the gospel, Jesus confirms the goal of teaching about him is to spread the news and encourage obedience to his word.

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
