My Weekly/Monthly Reading Summary until 1-11-2025

I will periodically add links to articles at the top of this post until I begin another Summary. So check back periodically. When I add a new article I will adjust the date, to the latest post’s date. The current Summary will be fixed at the top of my posts, but you may find other specific posts further down. I will leave the prior Summary second from the top of my posts for a few more days, then let it fall back into my timeline of posts.

Within a Summary you will find various active links to full articles, usually in a color and underlined. These are the articles I used to email out to my readers. I don’t email them any more.

I will try to begin each one with a larger Blue Bold Header.

So here we go…….

AGENDA WEEKLY BRIEF WEEK OF JANUARY 4-10-25 BY CURTIS BOWERS

Adding this on the 11th. I became aware of Curtis Bowers work about 10 years ago after seeing his Agenda video. Lately he runs a monthly or bimonthly summary which presents a lot of hard “facts”, I will let the “fact checkers” verify his comments, but they are broad reaching.

Of course watching the Cotton Bowl last night, I observed that perhaps God was intervening causing Ohio State to make some crazy penalties, but their skill in putting down now both Oregon and Texas was evident. Regardless of the outcome God is still in control, of all things.

Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

Btw, I’m not much on celebrities of any kind being a more important witness for Christ. But I do see a massive need for a return to the Faith of Bible, our God and Christ., and prayer.

Matthew 6:9-10 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

TEXAS QUARTERBACK GIVES GLORY TO GOD:

Texas Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers spoke about his team’s spiritual revival, stating, “It’s kind of like a domino effect in the locker room. I think that’s what grows us closer, as well as just the amount of guys that are putting their faith in the Lord. We pray after every practice as a team. Prayer is very powerful, and I really believe in prayer, and it’s just been cool to see how Jesus and God have worked in our lives throughout this year.”

I wonder if our next VP J, D. Vance will be celebrating 🥳 the inauguration with Trump, or attending the CFPNC. And who would he root for as I’ve read he a few years back left the historic Protestant faith to take up with the Roman Catholic Church!

Btw in the ratings neither of these teams were ranked in the top 4.

Previous Posts….There seem to be a few negative or controversial posts opening up the New Year. If you read these you will see that potential but perhaps they serve as warnings for the Church. I will limit my commentary to headlining them letting you decide if they are valuable.

Listen to the MLJ sermon first though.

False Teaching

A Sermon on Galatians 4:15 – SERMON #SD23

An old Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon worth listing to. Dates from 1954 series – 70 years ago. I was a small boy in Virginia back then. His preaching is a highlight in today’s world even more that back then.

UPDATE – RESEARCH: NEW APOSTOLIC REFORMATION

Marsh West updated this long list of resources on the NAR, if your not familiar with it, know it is widespread and you may be surprised by area included. If you want addition links I’ve found useful look at the Todd Friel, Justin Peters ones and Voddie Baucham, Costi Hinn, Glen Chatfield, Holy Pivec, Michelle Leslie, Chris Rosenberg, Ken Silva and Herescope ones. Notes: I started to be aware of the NAR issues some 15-20 years ago.

7 bullet points on why the Passion Conference is one to avoid.

This highlights ways the modern progressive church influences our youth today. And like the above it’s controversial and not new this year.

The Damnable Presuppositions of Dispensationalism By Richard Bennett

I begin the New Year with this thought full article. I recommend reading the full article and the link at its bottom to the complete discussion. Much is misunderstood in this area.

Here are a few quotes:

“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
 2 PETER 2:1

Dispensationalism and Sola Scriptura
A most serious assault on Sola Scriptura comes also from a system that quite often boasts about holding to that principle.  The assault here spoken of comes from those who hold to the presuppositions of Dispensationalism. Dispensationalism in general holds for seven dispensations, the fifth of which is the dispensation of the law, from Mt. Sinai to the cross of Christ and the sixth of which is the dispensation of grace, from the cross of Christ to the Second Advent.  Numerous charts print these dispensations.

A first major presupposition in dispensationalism is, therefore, the antithesis between law and grace.  The dispensationalist interpretation of the Bible sets up an antithesis which says that the dispensation of grace, in which we live, is antithetical to the dispensation of law.  The underlying implication is that we are not now under God’s law but rather under His grace.

Old Testament saints saved by grace alone (sola gratia)

Repent and believe the Gospel is the message of the New Testament, “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (Acts 20:21)  Repentance acknowledges the final authority of God’s law and acknowledges that God’s law must be fulfilled.  No individual is saved by repentance;  rather it is by bringing the words of the Law to bear on an individual that the Holy Spirit convicts him of his sin, of the righteousness of Christ Jesus, and of the judgment of God. (John 16)  A major reason why there is so little conviction of sin in the modern world of Evangelicals is that many have accepted a system of interpretation of the Bible that in fact sets up grace in antithesis to the Law in a false antithesis.

Generally speaking, in Dispensationalism the presupposition of the antithesis between law and grace nullifies the authority of the Bible.”
