I am sort of on a roll this morning reading Mike Ratliff’s recent post. This one goes well with his post the previous day, where I referred people to William Plumer’s Book of Grace.
It is sad, but I can think of numerous people, friends and family who would argue with the point of this post.
The outcome has been true throughout the Bible. One of the saddest verses in the Bible it:
Jhn 6:65-66 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.
People do turn away from the Biblical Message. I’ve quoted this before but in America this is our current status:
Barna, veteran researcher and author of the study, pointed to a broader drift behind the numbers. “Americans meander through life with a broad assortment of vague religious beliefs and volatile religious behaviors. That religious amnesia has produced a nation where the dominant worldview—adopted by nine out of 10 adults—is Syncretism, not biblical Christianity.”
The study found that a majority of American adults rejected biblical teaching in answering 14 questions about humanity and the supernatural. In addition to a majority rejecting the biblical view of God and 90% holding Syncretism as their primary worldview, see other findings from the new AWVI 2026 report:
”Therefore, when we see the false “christian leaders” attempting to blend together their different steams of faith we see people who are exhibiting nothing more than απιστιας, which is defined as faithlessness or uncertainty, distrust, and unbelief. In the New Testament, it is shown to be what marks those who do not acknowledge Christ as Lord and Savior. These doubt Christ’s power and do not trust in the God of promise. Oh, some have a religion built around a Jesus of their own construction, but this is not Jesus Christ, the Son of God, our Lord, and Savior. No, their Jesus is their buddy and has no problem with “sins” and participating in the blending of Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Christianity because, hey, these are just different streams of faith, right?”
