I continue to post these messages by Mike Ratliff because I see him capturing the truth that is in God’s Word.
My wife and I a few months ago were going through Dr. S. Lewis Johnson’s sermons on John Chapters 3 & 6 and it still remains with me how he emphasized the “must” in this verse…..
Jhn 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
And Mike refers well to these complimentary verses in John 6 equally as strong in their doctrine.
Jhn 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Jhn 6:65 And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
Jesus saying this twice in this chapter is a perfect illustration of the importance of what he teaches when he says:
Jhn 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Jhn 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Jhn 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
