Sanctify them through Thy truth

. Good words from yesterday’s reading. Another Pastor I follow has said …..Truth in doctrine is a necessary part of church unity. It’s not alone sufficient but necessary. Morning "Sanctify them through thy truth." — Joh 17:17 Sanctification begins in regeneration. The Spirit of God infuses into man that new living principle by which he… Continue reading Sanctify them through Thy truth

14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. 17 This I command you, that you love one another.
18 “ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose…

Blessed is the One

.
Important thoughts. Back in 2011 my wife and I did a series called Drive by Marriage by Todd Friel and Rick Thomas, (that’s Rick, not Gary the “Sacred Series “ author). The consistent main point was our need to always be preaching the gospel to ourselves. Obvious from the title there are many applications with in our marriages. Nice thing about Drive by is they are short and great for a road trip or even a walk.

A key text to remember is: 1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

And in whose spirit there is no deceit! Psalms 32:1-2 (NASB)

I debated with myself for a while about the title of this post. There is a part of me that still wants the name of it to be “What a Saviour!” My brethren, there is mischief afoot caused by a misunderstanding fostered by the deceit of the enemy of our souls. That mischief is to convince Christians that there is no need to hear the Gospel anymore now that they are safe in the arms of their Saviour. What rubbish! My times of struggling with my flesh and with overcoming the world always coincide when I am overwhelmed with discernment work or some other business that keeps me from…

This gets a little long since I got up at 4 this morning thinking about the latest planetary alignment, and out of bed by 5:30 🕠 I only saw the moon and after… Continue reading Question about Biblical Doctrine
