Timeless words. From centuries ago. How few times we hear them today. I can’t recall anyone ever quoting from the Directory! But today how often do our pastors need to endlessly quote the modern mega-preachers or authors… instead of “sparingly citing sentences of ecclesiastical or other human writers, ancient or modern, be they never so elegant.“
