Great post Mike. The last few years these verses in John 6 have been my go to ones when I need to explain clearly what God’s word says about salvation. And thanks for outlining the points of the ordo salutis-the order of the application of redemption to the elect. There is a chapter in Williamson’s Study Guide to the Westminster Confession on The Effectual Call that fully discusses that. But one rarely sees someone even refer to it like you did today.
I love the way Jesus repeats himself in v65, after earlier saying:
John 6:44 No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Btw…I consider John 6:66 one of the saddest verses in the Bible.

53 So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 “For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56 “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 “This is the bread which came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. He who eats this bread will live forever.” (John 6:53–58 Legacy Standard Bible)
